We are continuing our series that gives back to the industry answering the question, “What does a vCIO do?” and each article will outline a specific service offering of Outsourced CIO LLC in the day and the life of a vCIO. Some call this “virtual” Chief Information Officer or “fractional” CIO and for the sake of this series, we will be changing the “v” to mean “VALUED” CIO. Because the vCIO creates value for growing businesses who might not otherwise be able to afford a Chief Information Officer. Our topic for today is “CEO Weekly Huddle.”
IT Team Weekly Huddle is a weekly service, estimated time to complete: 1 hour and 4 hours per month.
Deliverable: A completed Weekly Memo after the Weekly Huddle regarding the current issues, assignments, and problems not yet solved. The goal of the weekly cycle is to spur people on to timely and productive execution. Creating accountability is one of the highest priorities for the vCIO. We should have a weekly meeting with those in the team responsible for initiatives. This can be the whole team or internal champion.
Description: The IT team is responsible for the day-to-day IT operation, maintenance, support and development on projects. The weekly huddles help them stay focused, aligned and accountable. It also gives management necessary visibility and control over the IT team. I have a template that I use with the IT Team Weekly Huddle Memo if you would like a copy, shoot me an email.
That’s is it! That is what a vCIO does. Check out the online video on this topic as well. Have a tech-stress free day from Outsourced CIO LLC, where we demystify technology for growing businesses.
