What does a vCIO do? ~ Key Stakeholder Interview

We are continuing our series that gives back to the industry answering the question, “What does a vCIO do?” and each article will outline a specific service offering of Outsourced CIO LLC in the day and the life of a vCIO.  Some call this “virtual” Chief Information Officer or “fractional” CIO and for the sake of this series, we will be changing the “v” to mean “VALUED” CIO.  Because the vCIO creates value for growing businesses who might not otherwise be able to afford a Chief Information Officer.  Our topic for today is “Key Stakeholder Interviews.”

Key Stakeholder Interviews are a quarterly service, estimated time to complete:  1 hour per quarter and 4 hours per year.Key Stakeholder Interview

Deliverable: The deliverable is a collection of completed Stakeholder Interviews from clients either electronically or over the phone.  The to-do for the vCIO consists of:  Determine the participants of the interview process.  Send the meeting request to the participants with the question sheet.  Go through the answers with the participants. Summarize the findings before the Quarterly Planning Session.  Email us if you would like a copy of the Key Stakeholder Interview template.

Description:  We need to seek the input of key stakeholders: COO, CFO, Marketing VP, Sales VPs. These people leading the company need a platform with the vCIO to review their needs, undiscovered opportunities, and ongoing projects under their direction.

That’s is it!  That is what a vCIO does.  Check out the online video on this topic as well.  Have a tech-stress free day from Outsourced CIO LLC, where we demystify technology for growing businesses.
